Similarities and Differences Between LA448 and LA548 Processors
Sinbosen recently launched a new digital audio processor, the LA548. Like the Sinbosen LA448, the LA548 is a 4-input, 8-output DSP digital amplifier; however, the LA548 features AES, Auto-EQ, and Auto-FIR capabilities, though it lacks Wi-Fi functionality.
一. Shared Core Hardware and Acoustic Performance of LA448 and LA548
Both products utilize identical basic hardware specifications, acoustic parameters, and control systems, with no difference in fundamental performance:
1. Unified Channel and Electrical Hardware
Channel Architecture: 4 XLR balanced inputs and 8 XLR balanced outputs, with fully customizable signal routing;
Power Supply: Wide-range voltage (AC 85V–260V), compatible with global mains power (50/60Hz);
Impedance & Level Standards: Input impedance >10kΩ, output impedance <60Ω, maximum input/output level +20dBu; compatible with professional mixing consoles and power amplifiers across the entire signal chain;
Chassis & Interface: Standard 1U rack-mount chassis with a color LCD screen; supports bilingual (Chinese/English) interfaces; features a front-panel master volume knob, a one-touch global mute function, and real-time dynamic level metering.
2. Identical Core Acoustic Parameters
Sampling Rate: Switchable between 96kHz and 192kHz modes;
Frequency Response: 10Hz–25kHz (±0.2dB); ultra-low distortion (THD+N <0.005%); high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR >118dB);
Delay System: Independent maximum delay of 1200ms per channel with 0.01ms adjustment precision; supports unit conversion between meters and feet; group delay of 2.8ms at 96kHz and only 1.2ms at 192kHz;
Filtering System: High-pass and low-pass filters support Linkwitz-Riley, Bessel, and Butterworth types, covering slopes from 6dB/oct to 48dB/oct;
Dynamic Processing: Built-in compressor, limiter (peak/RMS modes), and expander per channel; fully adjustable parameters including threshold, ratio, attack, and release;
Test Signals: Sine wave, pink noise, and white noise selectable per channel to facilitate sound field tuning;
Phase Control: Phase inversion (0°/180°) available for both input and output channels.
3. General FIR Filtering Capabilities
Both models support the application of FIR filters to input and output channels, allowing for direct configuration of low-pass, high-pass, and band-pass modes. They also support the import and export of filter coefficient files, enabling the correction of loudspeaker phase distortion and resolving sound field shift issues associated with standard IIR filters.
二. Comparison of Core Functional Differences: LA448 vs LA548
The LA548 features AES, Auto-EQ, and Auto-FIR capabilities but lacks Wi-Fi functionality.
Auto-EQ (Automatic Equalization)
Allows for the import of curves from professional acoustic measurement software (such as SMAART and REW) to automatically calculate target frequency response curves; enables one-touch room acoustic compensation, significantly reducing on-site tuning time.
Auto-FIR (Automatic Phase Correction)
Supports three operation modes—minimum phase, linear phase, and automatic phase—to simultaneously correct frequency response and phase; meets the high-precision sound field requirements of line array systems and fixed theater installations.
One-Touch REW Filter Import
Users can perform speaker calibration in REW software beforehand and import preset filter parameters directly into the device, facilitating standardized, batch-processed system tuning.
The LA548 supports AES digital audio links and multi-mode networking (direct connection/router modes), making it suitable for large-scale IP audio network projects; the LA448 is limited to basic USB/Wi-Fi/RS485 control and lacks AES digital audio expansion capabilities.
三. Product Application Scenarios
The LA448 offers a comprehensive set of basic features, meeting the fundamental requirements of the vast majority of small-to-medium-sized fixed installations and rental/performance applications.
It is suitable for small-to-medium KTVs, lounge bars, small live music venues, standard hotel banquet halls, campus meeting rooms, and small-to-medium mobile roadshows.
The LA548 features high-performance DSP, automatic sound field correction, AFC (feedback suppression), REW software integration, and AES digital audio interfaces. It is suitable for professional theaters, multi-purpose complexes, high-end hotel banquet halls, lecture halls, sports arenas, and fixed line-array sound reinforcement systems.
